I'm Patrick, but you can call me Flashão ⚡ (ask me privately and I'll explain)! A São Paulo native, born in 1979, my greatest career and life inspiration was undoubtedly my grandfather, Tomazo Giusti. A man of strong personality, known as Mazo, he had a great talent for visual arts and music. I grew up watching him draw and play his guitar (which I still keep with me to this day). I've followed and continue to carry that inspiration with me.
Graduating in Advertising Creation, my first agency experience was as an art assistant in 1997. It's been over 20 years in the field, making me an experienced creative/design professional. Since 2010, I've been working in UX/UI Design, actively engaged in digital projects with the aim of improving usability, the human-machine relationship, doing what I like to call "design for humans."
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege to work with major market players in B2B and B2C models. I've faced interesting challenges, such as building design teams, advocating for culture, assisting in product area structuring, and managing teams and projects. Additionally, I serve as a UX Professor at UNIPLAC and the Miami Ad School.
I enjoy working with complex products, employing strategic thinking and process simplification to produce better products that are beneficial for both Business and User.
To stay updated, I take courses, watch videos, documentaries, participate in live events, and, most importantly, read extensively.
I maintain a blog on Medium and a newsletter on LinkedIn where I discuss topics related to UX, Digital Product Construction, and book summaries.
Some books I've read that help me in my daily life and finding solutions are:
- The Power of Habit
- Hooked
- Creativity, Inc.
- How to Win Friends and Influence People
- The Leader in Me
- Thinking, Fast and Slow
- Don't Make Me Think
- The Design of Everyday Things
- Emotional Design
- The Innovator's DNA
- Inspired
A quote I greatly admire and have carried with me since I first encountered it:
"Life is too short to build something nobody wants." - Ash Maurya
Well, I think that's it! If you want to know more about me, feel free to reach out 😃.
